As we approach late July - seasonal, summer flower arrangements are in full swing. These blooms can weather the strong July heat and bring with them bright colors and exotic textures. A few of our favorite July varietals include Eremurus, Dahlias and Sunflowers. Summer is a time when asters and filler flowers abound in our home gardens as well as in the flower market. These blooms can be hardy, long-lasting and relatively inexpensive if you find them during the right time.
Sticking to seasonal flowers is key when planning a wedding or event. For a July event we suggest adding sunflowers, hydrangea or queen anne's lace to your pieces. These varietals fill up space in an arrangement and, because of their seasonality, are freshest this time of year. This doesn't mean that you still can't add in your favorite varietal when it isn't in the height of the season. If tulips, amaryllis or your favorite bloom, are still able to be sourced definitively, consider adding them in but, keep their use minimal. This will keep your arrangements full and cut down on cost!
